We are so excited to invite you to our upcoming DanceAIR Performance this Friday, a celebration of creativity and the incredible work of our dancers.

What is DanceAIR?

DanceAIR brings weekly dance workshops into New Haven Public Schools and the Q House, where students learn technique, explore movement, and create original work together under the guidance of Children’s Division Director, Timothy Fountain.

For many, it’s their first experience with dance, a chance to build confidence and discover their creativity. We’re always inspired by what they create.

Through the program, New Haven Ballet also offers scholarships to promising students who wish to continue their training, opening the door to further opportunities in dance.

Children’s ballet classes this winter at the Joseph Trapasso Community House

New Haven Ballet is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Town of Branford Parks and Recreation Department to bring children’s ballet classes to the Joseph Trapasso Community House this winter and spring.

The program offers classes for children ages 4–6 and students in grades 1–2. Through music, movement, and imaginative play, young dancers are introduced to the fundamentals of classical ballet in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Classes are designed to build coordination, confidence, and musicality while fostering creativity and a love of movement. No prior dance experience is required.

Students enrolled in the program will also have the opportunity to participate in New Haven Ballet’s spring performance at the historic Shubert Theatre in downtown New Haven, offering a unique and inspiring performance experience for young dancers.

Classes begin January 20, with sessions continuing through the spring. Registration is available through the Branford Parks and Recreation Department. Click Here for information.

We are excited to invite dancers with disabilities to join New Haven Ballet’s Shared Ability program, a weekly inclusive dance class that celebrates creativity and connection.

Shared Ability is a welcoming, wheelchair-accessible program for children and young adults with disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other physical or developmental challenges. Classes are led by teaching artist Kerry Kincy, who uses dance to build confidence and encourage communication.

What makes this program truly special is the shared goal: dancers work together throughout the spring toward a final performance at the Shubert Theater in New Haven. It is the only dance program of its kind in our community to offer this professional stage experience.

Classes meet Sundays from 12:00–1:00 pm, beginning February 1.

Families often tell us this program offers more than dance. It’s a place to belong and to share the experience of movement in a safe and supportive environment.

We would love to welcome you into our Shared Ability community.
