Artistic Director, Lisa Kim Sanborn, announces that forty-four veteran and new male and female dancers comprise New Haven Ballet’s student company. The dancers will perform excerpts from the ballet, Don Quixote, with a score composed by Leon Minkus and choreography by Lisa Kim Sanborn after Marius Petipa and Alexander Gorsky. The Company will also perform Symphonic Nonsense, set to music by Leroy Anderson and choreographed by Tom Gold. The public is invited to attend the performance at the Shubert Theatre New Haven on May 28, 2022. Congratulations to the members of New Haven Ballet Company!

Former Susan Farrell Ballet and Dance Theatre of Harlem dancer, Alicia Holloway, is returning to New Haven Ballet to offer a mini workshop to Level 6-8 dancers. Ms. Holloway will work with Level 6-8 dancers on Thursday, Saturday and Thursday (January 13, 15 & 20), offering both ballet and pointe technique with variations. Level 5 dancers will also have a chance to work with Ms. Holloway on January 20. New Haven Ballet is excited to welcome her back to New Haven!

Alicia Mae Holloway is from Morgantown, West Virginia and began dancing when she was three years old at Kat and company dance studio. In 2007, Alicia began taking classes at Morgantown Dance Studio with Desiree Witt, Lauren Sone, Marilyn Pipes, Eunice Kim, and Robert Steele.

She also trained at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts before attending the School of American Ballet from 2011-2015, where she trained with Suzy Pilarre, Suki Schorer, Darci Kistler, Kay Mazzo, and Jock Soto. Over the last few summers, Ms. Holloway has attended the Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program, as well as Pacific Northwest Ballet. She began her professional career dancing with the Suzanne Farrell Ballet, and with the Dance Theatre of Harlem.
