In honor of World Ballet Day 2021, we are pleased to share the restaging of Tom Gold’s Bach Suite, which New Haven Ballet premiered in 2016 at the Shubert Theatre.

New Haven Ballet is interested in sharing ballet with the broadest possible audience. We invite the community to learn and engage in dance through our community programs. Despite the challenges we face during the pandemic, New Haven Ballet is working harder than ever to adapt and offer our incredible teachers, staff, ZOOM and studio classes, and performances through our community programming.
Shared Ability offers dance workshops to differently abled artists. Dance is used as a tool to build social and cognitive abilities. Participating artists, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other challenges, dance, meet, interact, and share their unique experiences with one another in a safe and supportive environment.
Recreational classes are offered seven days a week on a drop-in basis to students 12+ years — for beginners through advanced level dancers — in our Open Division.
DanceAIR offers dance classes, performances, and scholarships to children who would not otherwise have access or the opportunity to study ballet. We partner with New Haven Public Schools to offer year round training and support for those with financial need and a strong interest in ballet.

New Haven Ballet is pleased to announce that Timothy Fountain will be joining the faculty in September 2021.
Timothy Fountain is a native of Bridgeport. He began his dance training at the age of 12 with Bridgeport Ailey camp in 1999, which established his love of dance. Mr. Fountain continued his dance training at the Westport Dance Center and later received a scholarship to the Ballet School of Stamford under the direction of Stephanie Marini. Mr. Fountain attended summer programs at the North Carolina Dance Theater, Harrid Conservatory, and the Ailey School. He performed and trained with dancers from Boston Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theatre, New York City Ballet, and Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. Mr. Fountain was a member of Cedar Lake II Contemporary Ballet, Missouri Contemporary Ballet and Tina Thompson Dance Company. He has choreographed for Neighborhood Studio of County in Bridgeport and several high school musicals, including Thoroughly Modern Millie, Wizard of Oz and Lion King in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. In 2021, Mr. Fountain joined New Haven Ballet School and is excited to share his knowledge and passion for dance with the next generation.
New Haven Ballet is pleased to announce a new studio location on the Shoreline in Branford. The sunny space boasts new floors, mirrors and barres and is located in the Joseph Trapasso Community House at 46 Church Street in Branford. New Haven Ballet is excited to offer classes to our younger families with the convenience of a Shoreline location. Classes in this beautiful new Branford facility start in September. Alicia Mae Holloway is from Morgantown, West Virginia and began dancing when she was three years old at Kat and company dance studio. In 2007, Alicia began taking classes at Morgantown Dance Studio with Desiree Witt, Lauren Sone, Marilyn Pipes, Eunice Kim, and Robert Steele. She also trained at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts before attending the School of American Ballet from 2011-2015, where she trained with Suzy Pilarre, Suki Schorer, Darci Kistler, Kay Mazzo, and Jock Soto. Over the last few summers, Alicia has attended the Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program, as well as Pacific Northwest Ballet. She began her professional career dancing with the Suzanne Farrell Ballet, and is now dancing her sixth season with the Dance Theatre of Harlem.
