Dear Friends and Families,

With great enthusiasm, I thank you for being part of the New Haven Ballet community. The Ballet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides excellent dance training by a fantastic faculty, professional-quality performances, and incredible outreach opportunities, all aimed at nurturing the love of dance throughout Greater New Haven.

This year, we are enlisting the help of some wonderful volunteers to strengthen the ties within our community and assist with our Annual Appeal fundraising efforts. We hope you will speak with some of our volunteers to learn how New Haven Ballet impacts the various members of the community. We will be letting you know more soon.

Your inclusion in our family is invaluable. Your support through our fundraising efforts is vital; it’s the lifeblood of our organization. We can only provide exceptional programs with the funding we receive through donations because tuition and ticket sales do not cover our expenses.

Please help us spread the joy of dance throughout the community with our Annual Appeal through November 15th. For your convenience, New Haven Ballet now accepts payment through Venmo

I am deeply grateful for your time, consideration, and, most importantly, your support. Because of your donations, we can continue to bring the joy of dance to Greater New Haven.

Yours sincerely,

Lisa Kim Sanborn, Artistic Director

September 2, 2023

Dear New Haven Ballet Families,

I hope you enjoyed a fantastic summer and are ready to begin the fall. All of us at New Haven Ballet are excited to welcome new and returning students to the studio.

This is an exciting time to be part of New Haven Ballet and I feel privileged to be part of this community. Our first summer residency at Choate was incredible and I look forward to sharing news about expanding the program next summer.

You may see some new faces as Heidi Yu returns to the faculty to teach Levels 2, 3 and 4, and we welcome Julien Kanor who will be working with Mr. Tim and students in the Children’s Division.

During the month of September, I encourage students in Levels 3-8 to try something new by attending one or more of the nine weekly enrichment classes for FREE. Enrichment classes support and maximize a student’s progress and potential. Students in levels 3-8 should participate in at least one weekly conditioning class. Broadway and Contemporary dance classes build physical strength, flexibility, musicality, and broaden a dancer’s overall technical skills and artistry.

Finally, I understand many of us are focused on The Nutcracker. Auditions will be held September 23-24 and are open to students enrolled at New Haven Ballet in Creative Ballet 1 through Level 8. For those who have questions about the process I invite you to attend a meeting on Saturday, September 9.

If you have a general question please do not hesitate to ask Ruth Barker at Tel. 203-782-9038 or email: administrator@newhavenballet.org. If you have questions about billing please reach out to Lucy Weady at businessmanager@newhavenballet.org.

As the Artistic Director I will continue to dedicate myself to this organization, and feel confident that together we will make great things happen at New Haven Ballet!

New Haven Ballet offer classes in June and July!

In June, students may pay tuition by the week and enjoy as many classes as are offered in their class level or one level lower.

In July, Level 2-8 students have the opportunity to enroll in a ballet intensive summer camp where they will enjoy daily conditioning and stretch classes, ballet technique, and different genres of movement to help them gain strength and mobility, improve their artistry and musicality, and make tremendous strides in their technique.

Students who are new to New Haven Ballet will need to schedule a placement class before registering. Current students should register for their current class level.

Please arrive at least 10-minutes before class begins. Click Here for Schedule. Click Here for Class Rates. We look forward to seeing you!

New Haven Ballet’s Monday morning 10:00 a.m. beginning ballet class will be offered through November 28. This one-hour class is perfect for beginners, those who may have taken a long hiatus away from ballet, and those recovering from an injury who are reintroducing a slower paced, lower impact class as they return to full capacity. If you are interested in trying ballet for the first time we encourage you to attend our Monday morning class taught by Kelsey Paff in our beautifully appointed studio in downtown New Haven. Email: administrator@newhavenballet.org for more information.
